The vegetable garden 2023

Oh right. When I tried to upload the pix direct from my phone, I was told the images were too big. Gawd knows what to do, unless my phone can reduce the size. Not ideal, then, using the Drive.

Thanks Barry.

Which image was you able to see? The one showing the whole bed, or where the compost area is under tarp?

allot2.jpg , looking lengthways along the plot with the raised beds in the foreground with then some clear earth beyond and a blue tarp furthest away.

I was able to see both pics. It’s looking great :+1:t3:

Ah thanks Barry. Yes, that shows most of the plot. After where I’ve dug (which I’ve named plot 2) there’s plot 3 at the rear. Intended locations for greenhouse and shed. Plot 1 will be the raised beds in foreground. Dividing it up makes it easier for me to note what has been planted where, and to adopt crop rotation.

Path down the middle divides my plat against the chap’s next door.

In plot 2 I can start putting in some seedlings, and maybe in raised bed at the front, filled with compost.

Yes, there is a lot of work involved. I might ask my gardener, who did my garden shrubs, and some work on this plot, to prepare the area for a shed.

Oh fantastic! Thanks. Maybe because I have altered viewing permission.

No, I had to sign into my Google Drive to view.

Ah. Damn.

Would you like me to post them on your behalf?

Just resized. Let me try posting first, or I may ask for yr help. Thanks.

Thank you.

Looking good Jazzi,

So the only product that’s edible in my garden is a Grape vine that Hubby planted 6 months befor he died this will be it 3rd Summer and for the first time i think theres Grapes growing .I know nothing about growing Grapes so just left it and kept tieing it in to support it .

The rain we have had this Spring has really doubled the greenery on it , and im sure theres buds that could be the start of a bunch of Grapes ,

I may be wrong of course and it will be a case of wait and see .

This is looking like a remarkable year for fruit trees where I am. The cherry tree in the front garden (not really a garden, more the bit that gets mowed as opposed to the wild meadow) has more cherries than I’ve ever seen. Hundreds whereas last year it was four or five.
Can you freeze cherries? Might make clafoutis aux cerises this evening…

Tomatoes (and one cucumber pot) are now on the sunny flat roof. Most are showing healthy growth but one tomato plant caught a chill a while back and not sure whether it will fruit. Can’t quite capture them all in the pic but there are about three very healthy looking pots and the smaller plants are the second tranche added this week.

Looks a great crop Alan, and by the way I’m always up for some clafoutis if there’s any spare… :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Looks a good spot Annie, my tomatoes are in the greenhouse but I messed up the other day, when taking a side shoot out I took the growing tip out of one of the plants by mistake! Luckily though I’d saved another seedling and managed to replace the plant so no harm done… phew… :slightly_smiling_face:

Barry, I’ve not long come home from another stint at the allotment unchoking the onions. Weeds were very thick, but most now out. I managed to pull a couple of onions out as well. Oh dear!:roll_eyes:

Watered them. Wanted to get home before gate was locked (I’m still unsure of the code).
