The USA and the settler colony of Israel has started a war with Iran

the whole world should seek war reparations from the US.

Iran’s military command says it has closed the Strait of Hormuz again over the US blockade.

But US President Donald Trump says the blockade will continue until a peace deal is reached.

Being important is not that important Lincs, being in control of our own destiny, being more independant and producing our own stuff should be the priority. Give our young people jobs and only importing the raw materials and the things we cannot make.

Not in the EU we won’t…Not on my watch… :009:

I’m inclined to agree with you … the US is too fickle.
I had no views either way over Brexit but can’t see we’ve gained anything by leaving … except a massive divorce settlement for them.
And geographically,as opposed to politically, it makes sense.
I wonder who Canada feel allied to these days.

There’s not much chance of us been in control of our destiny or more independent … to a degree Brexit promised that, and failed … we’re just too small to be wholly independent.
Trump has rather made that clear. Trouble with him is you’re viewed as a vassal rather than an ally and why not. We are just a piddly island.
I never voted Brexit first time around but should there ever be another referendum I’d seriously consider voting to rejoin the EU.

I rarely agree with you over EU/Brexit issues but here you are likely to be right. Not that I’m willing you an early demise - you could live many more years and this is likely to be correct. The reason that it will take many, many years to re-join the EU are the hurdles to be allowed back in. There is zero chance that the UK would regain all the opt-outs, the exceptions, the re-imbursements that we had before we left. Selling the full in membership (euro currency, etc.) to the UK will be impossibly hard today, next year, the year after, etc.
However, it looks so very likely that integration to the point of being in the single market (the EEA - even with the charges that would take) might be possible. And yes, that would mean signing up to all the EU standards and regulations without much say in such things. But being out of the EU is hurting the UK badly on just about every front. This notion of “control of our destiny” is empty, without value, never true anyway. We are beholden to world wide rules, world events and powers greater than ours. That is surely so obvious right now.

Hi

Back on Thread.

The stupidity of Trump knows no limits.

He had a way out of this mess, an agreed ceasefire.

Iran had reopened the Straits to shipping which is vital to the economies of many Countries.

What does the idiot do?

He decides to continue to stop all shipping using Iranian Ports, threatening to continue bombing Iran into submission.

He has threatened to use military force to stop any mines being cleared.
Iran have responded by closing the Straits again.

Trump has caused havoc and misery to many ordinary people here in the UK and many other Countries.

He is forecast to cost the average family here in the UK £480 a year more.

I find this very, very wrong.

It is obvious that the original cause of this error of all wars was Netanyahu arm twisting in some way the gullible Trump. But I read now that Trump has in mind a way to save face, as he sees it. This is to present all of this error as Trump aiming to be the US president who rids the world of the anti-American Iranian regime. That would be the regime that arose because of the US imposed and supported shah. It takes a special sort of American exceptionalism to come up with that wheeze.

I would have to disagree with your statement of “Netanyahu arm twisting in some way the gullible Trump” (not that Nazi Don is not gullible), Netanyahu supplied Trump with an excuse to attack Iran, Trump’s eye’s were seeing $$$$$$$$, billions of $$$$$ in profit for US Corporations.

I see a specific problem, and it is all about the south side of Asia. Most likely it is all about Petrol.
There is no fixing the problem. Europe has very little natural petrol solutions without Middle east and Russian NG & Petrol.
This is a European / countries around Iran’s problem. Period. Israel under strain from Terrorists and Iran is supporting them. Grovelers are a great solution to it all. My Buckel list of giv m a crap… it’s MT.

I’ll talk about my American dream, Work all of the shifts, work 7 days a week for years. Retire after being 120’ above the ground and realizing that if my fall restraints failed, I would fall to my death, and it seemed stupid. Owning my home, paying $100,000’s in Taxes and insurances on it. Maybe sinking 100 super tankers fixes the Straits problems. Let fix the problem with pipelines!

If Israel didn’t invade their neighbours they wouldn’t have to deal with any terrorists as you call them.

I see today that Trump is back to threatening to ‘blow the whole country up’ …
smileytwiddling thumbs
In the next article that I read it reported … Trump believed coming across as ‘unstable and insulting’ could bring the Iranians to the table…

That’s a relief … we don’t need to worry about his sanity or mental health, just his tactical ability.

I am just going to hide under the bedclothes and only come up for air
