The Supernatural

Once, walking along a road in Edinburgh, I heard a voice saying that when I turned the corner I would see my mum driving her car with my sister and nieces inside, all waving at me. This was a good 5 seconds before it happened exactly as told to me.

Of course I could just be very perceptive but I’ve had numerous such happenings

I used to get that happen to me Dreamy.
Not so much anymore.

More please:lol:

Another time when I was around 12, I got a very bad feeling in a friend’s house - it just didn’t feel right and I felt scared.

It turned out there had been a murder/suicide there some 40 years previously.

I’m pretty good at picking up on the vibes of houses. Most are neutral, a few happy, and a very few which just don’t feel right to me.

I am the same Dreamy.
I was waiting for an Xray, in a hospital in Kent.
I felt really uneasy, and it was ice cold there.
I told the receptionist, I would have to wait somewhere else and told her my reasons. She was confused, telling me it was hot. I found out later, it used to be the morgue.

When I going through an early menopause between the ages of 40-48, I would have premonitions, for want of a better word. I had never had them before, or since. My most memorable one was a just before Diana, died. I was out for walk and it suddenly came into my mind that she was about to die. I hadn’t been thinking about her, she wasn’t someone in whom I had the slightest interest. I dismissed the thought as being silly, and was astounded when her death was reported a day or so later.

That’s interesting - I get similar things, although not about anyone nearly as famous. Recently I was thinking of Jim Bowen, the comic, tv/presenter who hadn’t been in the news. For some reason he just popped into my mind.

A couple of days later he died.

Oh, I am loving all this.
We should start a premonition thread.

You could…but I got a bad vibe from my Tarot thread, probably because I was ill but didn’t realise how ill I’d become.

I cannot comment on what I often see in the cards.
I was joking about a premonition thread.

We owned a three acre field where an Irish couple claimed they had seen the virgin Mary and their ailments had miraculously disappeared! They wrote to the media and before we knew it our very narrow lane because like a mini Lourdes! People came from all over the UK, Ireland and even the US to suss it out. Other claims were made. I had an experience late one evening in May 1997. I was standing at the field gate watching our middle daughter and her friend climb the steep hill to the top of the field. For a second or two I thought I saw what looked like the picture book version of Mary. When the girls came down again they were excited and said they had a similar experience. I am of the opinion we saw what we wanted to see.

I had a frozen shoulder, which defied the attention of the medics. Someone suggested I got our field to do the business, more as a joke than anything else I stood at the field get taking in the vibes. Within five minutes my shoulder felt easier, and by the next day it was better! I am of the opinion it was my body’s own healing mechanisms that somehow kicked in.

We had been encouraged to make money out of the field’s reputation. But that would have been so very wrong. If people benefitted from taking in the vibes, we had no problem with that. We did have a notice of the gate stipulating that they didn’t enter the field or disturb the neighbours.

You are SO right about the money making Tara. It certainly would be wrong.
I do love your stories. You know that, don’t you?

Ive had that happen to me twice , the lights were off , and i jumped up quick put the light on ,and nothing or no reason for it …Very unsettling at the time , I left a light on following that …

It looks like lots of us on here have had strange experiences.
Would you ever feel brave enough to go on one of those ghost hunts though?

I used to work with a woman who was part of some group who used to arrange late night visits to places that had a reputation for spooky goings on. I suppose if it’s a small group it would be ok but surely a large group would spoil the atmosphere.
I think I would like to try it, anybody else?

Then again I’m a bit of a nutcase and would like to go to a UFO hotspot and spend the night watching the sky. isn’t Warminster supposed to be a place to visit to see a UFO.

In spite of the weird experiences I have had in my life I don’t believe in the ‘supernatural’. Those so called ‘ghost hunts’ are spoofs!

MC
I went on one in Edinburgh with my daughter, we finished up going in a crypt to end it off ,in the oldest grave yard . A man jumped out with a Scream mask on ,i collapsed into the person behind me , lol

The woman I knew who had been on those ghost hunts hadn’t come back with any particularly good stories as far as I am aware.

I was once questioned by some amateur ghost hunters as I rented a workshop in an old school in Birkenhead where a few of the tenants had reported strange occurrences and they were going to do an overnight vigil and where gathering information first before setting up equipment.

The only experience I had there was working late there one night and there was a terrific bang on the door of my workshop as if someone had thrown something at it but there was no one there and nothing in the corridor outside.

Yes, we went on a couple of those last year. On one of them the guide explained to us that the iron cages over some of the graves were put there because people believed that bodies could resurrect themselves as vampires!

The truth, of course, was that there were put there to prevent ‘resurrection men’ (body snatchers) stealing recently interred bodies to sell to the nearby medical school.

These people should really get their facts right.

Thats funny JBR, but we have to expect a bit of fiction on these Ghost tours , the guide we had looked like Ewan McGregor , And could spin a good tale …

I went on a Ghost walk once.
I never saw any ghosts but loved the history.
I so want to see a ghost, but nah they hide from me.

We lived a small house that was built in grounds of a larger house. The larger house was built in the 1500’s. I once heard a door handle rattle violently. I’d fallen asleep on the sofa in the lounge and when I looked at the clock it was 1.00 a.m, a time when I should have been asleep in bed and not laying on the sofa. The noise woke me suddenly but I thought I’d imagined it. It wasn’t worth a mention in the morning.

A month or two later, Mrs Mart and were talking and she happened to mention being awoken by the same thing, a door handle rattling violently. She thought it was me playing a trick but nobody was there. She had fallen asleep on the bed during the afternoon when it was really time be at work.

In both cases, it seemed that we were awoken when we were sleeping somewhere, or some time, when/where we shouldn’t have been. It was like (the spook?) saying, “What are you doing laying there? You ought to be in bed”. In the case of Mrs mart, “You shouldn’t be laying there at this time of day. It’s time to go to work”.

My brother often said that the patio door curtains in his house moved by themselves. I was round his place one evening and we sat chatting with our backs to the curtained patio doors. I heard the noise of the curtains being moved behind us. I turned around and asked “What’s that?!” All my brother said was “Told you”.

No, haven’t seen any ghosts but have maybe heard one or two?
