The Supernatural

Do they Patsy can you point me in the direction of some scientific evidence for that please .
Children also use a lot of energy, sleep deeply and have nightmares

Meg - I prefer my own experiences rather than listen to scientists theories that are forever changing - :-p

Ah yes ‘experiences’ let’s not forget those …

Exactly

So what experience do you have Patsy to prove conclusively that ‘children sense things more than adults’ and the experience described by another member can not be attributed to that well know children’s condition ‘night terrors’ :-).

Why would I list everything that has happened to me, just for you to quote a scientist or tell me I imagined it, I’ve not come on here to be irritated, I’m already bloomin irritated as it is … :-p

 ok Patsy, I understand now stop being irritated .

It’s a well known fact that blind faith overcomes all reason.

Some things simply have no rhyme or reason…and that is what makes some experiences unique.

You can be given many explanations for what it could possibly have been, but science etc can not give all the explanations to some occurrences.

Not all things can be explained away

Just wish she had been able to give us the tiniest inkling as to what had so frightened her.
We have been in this house 40 years, ah well one of those things we will never know or understand.

My youngest grandaughter had a similar ‘experience’ recently and refused to sleep in her own room. She would not tell her parents why.

I have her for a whole day once a week and when we were all cosy having a cuddle and story I asked her if there was anything worrying her or making her afraid. I told her I used to be sacred of things when little .
She told me the ‘child catcher’ was coming to get her in her bedroom.

I asked my son about this later and apparently they had all watch the film Chitty chitty Bang Bang with a childcatcher in a few days earlier and it must have stayed in her mind.

Despite every effort, as a child I slept the wrong way round in bed so that ‘orrible things’ would not see me. I was constantly assured there were no ghosts and ghouls etc. It was years later that I told anyone the reason for this behaviour.

There was a little bed time prayer that my Mother had me say. I went to bed terrified each night…

As I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord my soul to keep
If I should die before I wake
I pray the Lord my soul to take

Oh my goodness :surprised: I had that too and was also terrified of dying in the night or that my soul whatever that was would disappear .

As a child I never understood why anyone would want my soul but as my mother had told me…the Lord did. And what child argues over something like that.

It was cloven hooves for me for many years

That is exactly it Patsy, our own experiences that we know happened.
I believe those that are very sceptic, are extremely afraid of dying.

:lol: my stepmother was a religious fanatic and we children were led to believe we could be struck dead if we disobeyed her  so we didn’t and I lived to tell the tale

Speak for yourself Wrinkly  death holds no fear for me and I won’t be popping up to chat to anyone when I die either .

I haven’t heard that before Barry  I must remember that …

So very true Wrinkly, so very true☺

I have an open mind on this interesting subject and am happy to read others input so I ask with respect Wrinkly why would you believe that sceptics have a fear of dying !!
