The Story of Dark Side of the Moon

The best lyrics, EVER

The lunatic is on the grass
The lunatic is on the grass
Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs
Got to keep the loonies on the path

The lunatic is in the hall
The lunatics are in my hall
The paper holds their folded faces to the floor
And every day the paper boy brings more

And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too
I’ll see you on the dark side of the moon

The lunatic is in my head
The lunatic is in my head
You raise the blade, you make the change
You re-arrange me 'til I’m sane

You lock the door and throw away the key
There’s someone in my head but it’s not me.

And if the cloud bursts thunder in your ear
You shout and no one seems to hear
And if the band you’re in starts playing different tunes
I’ll see you on the dark side of the moon

Took my missus to see this performed live back in '94, which was the first time she had been to a rock concert and was totally blown away with it.

I wish I’d seen Pink Floyd.
But I have to content myself with The Australian Pink Floyd Show who are playing the whole of Dark Side on this years tour.

The Dark Side of the Moon was the end of Pink Floyd for me. Hated it.

There is no accounting for taste.

Never had you down as a bit of an Arnold Layne.

I don’t like them at all.I think they are too up themselves. :grinning:

Ummagumma was their peak, they went downhill from there on. In Meddle and Atom Heart Mother they were starting to sound like the soundtrack for an epic movie, then Dark Side of the Moon sealed their fate for me, it was their first LP I didn’t buy.

They owed a great debt of gratitude to Syds psychological state.

I often wonder what sort of band Pink Floyd would have been if Syd had not gone off the rails.

They got Wish you Were Here out of it as well.
