The station was closed on 6 May 1968. It continued to be lived in by the former station master and then his widow until 1999.
Sad but happy story.

Apparently there is a proposal to reopen the Tavistock to Plymouth line which it is said would reduce carbon emissions, benefit the residents and support the local economy. This has not been confirmed as yet.
One of my favourite films is the Titfield Thunderbolt. An Ealing comedy dating from 1953 so nothing new here!
