How fun watching tech from the past!
As I watched it though, it brought to mind this video of sound effects professionals today. They do much the same as they did before. They still try to make noises that replicate other things. Computers haven’t entirely taken over that role.

Still regarded as one of the best synths ever made. I think Trevor Horn used this for all his stuff with Frankie Goes To Hollywood and other bands.
