The Salt Path (book & film) finally exposed as lies

I just knew it was riddled with unanswered questions. What an absolute pair of liars.

I did enjoy the book. I can see it on my unit in the front room as I type. In a sense it was a kind of travelog which is what appealed. I’ll not think about it in the same way after reading the article from The Observer, although oddly enough it’s prompted me to read it again

A few weeks ago, as my friend and I sat in the church community cafe, we asked one of the helpers to take a rest. She sat and told us about seeing this film. Her story had me in tears, and I vowed to try and see it. So glad I never bothered!

Is it worth taking a look at ? I’m intrigued with the feedback .

I must live a sheltered life, I have never heard of the couple, the book or the film.

I wonder if there will be a film or series about their lies? Remember Apple Cider Vinegar?

I enjoyed the book when I first read it. I wouldn’t say it was a top read by any means although it was quite absorbing.
Obviously it’s very much tainted after that review.
Maybe seek out a second hand copy Mags or perhaps the library?

BTW there is a video too

Hi Bruce would you recommend watching. Is ot on Netflix?

I had to google to find out what it’s all about.

Just goes to show the British public are a sucker for an underdog and can be right mugs sometimes.

I can see the next books to come out will be a merging of the Salt Path along with an autobiography about her embezzlement which led her to fabricate a few things and write …
The Salt Path
I bet she pens self-help books like ‘How To Influence People & Make Friends’

All I know about the Salt Path is in this thread it was news to me but Apple Cider Vinegar on Netflix is very interesting and well made - all about a similar fraud.

Thank you saw apple cider vinegar .

Cider with Rosie sounds romantic

Loved that book, still have a copy on my shelf.

I’ve never ever read it … sounds like long hot summers and strolling through fields full of sunflowers.

I haven’t read it for decades but I loved it. It was so different I guess being written by a poet, I am pretty sure I read it in a day (two at the most.) It is definitely about an England long gone.

Just grabbed my copy from the shelf - 1974 edition held together with tape, actually the pages are yellow and blotchy but it is 50 years old (doesn’t time fly?)

I shall pop it on my reading list. Rosie, not the Salt Path, It’s one of those books I’ve heard of … but surprisingly never read.
