The ruling Labor Party want to create a $10 billion housing fund

The opposition Liberal Party and the Greens blocked its passage in the Senate because it does not go far enough.
So there will be no housing fund.
Would it not be better to have a housing fund first up, then negotiate changes once it is up and running?

Fear not!

It is a start. But Albanese is not going to agree with the proposal. :slightly_frowning_face:

That would require sensible thinking, but these are politicians, so expect more of the same.

The Greens might think twice about stopping this plan entirely after the criticism they received when they sunk the previous Labor governemt’s Carbon Credit plan for not going far enough which led to years of total inaction under the following Coalition government led by Scotty from Marketting.

Sadly all, not some but all, politicians feather their own nest, and if your proposal don’t include a few feathers for their nest then they are against it…

There needs to be a mechanism where when Politicians are found to be doing the wrong thing they are immediately expelled from parliament. Too many get away with fraudulent behaviour by simply saying sorry.

there is, they appear before a committee which is manned by fellow politicians who sit nodding knowingly then dismiss all charges.
talk about turkey’s voting for xmas…

same in the UK. if a person wants and does stand as a member of parliament they should drop all outside financial interests. After all they get enough just for being an MP

as was explained to me, we require mainly business people, educated people, yes we need a few coal miner types to ground them but the best business brains are needed to run the country… my problem is the lack of socialists in the Labour party, they seem to be mainly sort of tory to commies, they welcome the minorities with open arms without considering the effect of their ‘new’ members on their ‘old’ members… one of their ‘new’ members a Pakistani person got arrested for fiddling the postal votes at an election, when he got out of prison he was welcomed back into the party [they needed his expertise] that was during Jeremies leadership…

Shows how pathetic the system, and the people is/are.

how wrong you are, if you didn’t have the type of people in power who can mend a door how do you expect them to mend an open gate into the UK.
