My best friend from the 70s had a father and two uncles who played the bagpipes in parades etc.

Your so right, dad used to take us to the Tattoo every year when we were growing up, it was so special and such a treat for us kids. Stopped going once I left home and only been back the once, to the castle and that was to a concert with Runrig.
We were over on the right side quite near the front. This was/is my favourite record by them.
