Some call it natural ageing which no one can escape.
Went on the South Downs bus from Winchester to Petersfield on Sunday, where I am now sat outside their Waitrose. Nice little place, had a good day.
Great photo John. I used to deliver to a firm in Petersfield as a courier.
Job number 1205 Mon 27 Mar 2007 Cott Beverages Ltd, Pontefract and collect from Cott Beverages, Kegworth & Deliver to Hartridges,Petersfield. 511 miles £135.20
A clip from my original job sheet…
I loved those long distance jobs…
You look great Eliza, nothing like I expected you to look.
And well done on the second team result…
This was me and a friend when we did the coast to coast together in 1999
282 miles in three days…
One I like to reminisce over. Always liked to be active with the children.
My brother and I did the 1997 Wish Pedlars Charity Cycle Ride. It went from Blackwater (near Camberley, Surrey) to Southsea. That is 54 Miles over the South Downs (and ups). Some riders were coming back as we were still going but Blow that! We reckoned 54 miles was enough and got a lift home from my wife and friends who had gone there to wave us in.
What a brilliant picture
deleted - will be back!!
me in the real outback on an outback with a soreback!!
I just looked through this thread start to finish…so sad that some of the people no longer post here…I know where some are but others leave me wondering…hope they are ok
I’m meeting Lion Queen for coffee on Tuesday I’ll tell her to get right back here miss her posts.
When this thread got going again I did the same Summer. I went to the very beginning and worked my way through looking at members past and present. There have been some very good posters and friends not posting anymore for whatever reason. It makes you think how many people pass through your life and are never seen or heard from again…
This was taken some years ago, we’d been taking a stroll on The Thames foreshore from Blackfriars heading east.
Back on the walkway above there was an office with mirrored bronze windows, no doubt the occupants could see out but we couldn’t see in, time for a reflection selfie.
You can see The Millennium Bridge which of course in reality was behind us.
Great photo Chilli…
I’ve been known to take advantage of reflective surfaces while out and about looking for something interesting to photograph…
This one was taken while on holiday in Guernsey…
Nice one Foxy!
It’s just good fun to go out and do that kind of thing on a whim.
That road/lane looks vaguely familiar, the top of St Peter Port by any chance?
Very close Chilli, we stayed in a nice hotel near Jerburg and St Martin and used to walk the two miles down into St Peter Port most days. If we were feeling fit, we would take the coast path, about five miles, but with a stop for refreshments at the tea shed in a little secluded bay…I forgot the name…will look it up.
Hell of a walk out though…
A man who loves driving if I’m not mistaken Feey?
Interesting to put faces to names.
