Is anyone following this drama on channel5 this week?
Four women and their husbands (big mistake!) and kids on holiday in Malta.
Basically everything is falling apart…and things are getting worse!
But my view is what an immature dippy dysfunctional group of twits!
But having watched 2 episodes I have to know the outcome!
If someone doesn’t get pushed over the cliff I shall be surprised!
I haven’t been very well this week and strong medication has made me fall asleep. I watched the first episode and missed the second half. I have set it to record now. I also fell asleep and missed the ending of the play I had been watching for several weeks - No Return.
I’m so glad I’m not in that beautiful house surrounded by sea and sunshine glorious healthy food and wine and to top it all a private swimming pool , because I’d be hating every second and want to go home. I will have to watch tomorrows episode to find out what this secret has been about .
What a moody argumentative lot they are and I wonder if the women will all still be friends at the end.
V read the book a few years ago. She says the TV adaptation follows the book pretty well except the location has been moved from the South of France (Provence?) to Malta.
I agree entirely with what you said Susan. Even the adults are behaving like grumpy teenagers. A question, please. If the packet of condoms doesn’t belong to the main character’s husband, who put it in his wash-bag?
I’m glad I’m just a simpleton who lives a simple uncomplicated life after all who wants to go on exotic holidays with complicated over indulged people like that
Indeed!
So many twists I felt quite dizzy!
A moral dilemma…and she’s a cop for heaven’s sakes.
She won’t be able to live a lie will she?
And how can her relationships with her useless husband and her daughter survive?
Second series you think?
I somehow doubt it as this was based on one book. Having said that, the author (T. M. Logan) has written at least 5 other books.
This is the top review on the IMDB website: The book has not translated to screen. Jill Halfpenny is a good actress. It’s extremely slow and the flash-forward to the end at the start of episode 1 is one of my biggest TV gripes. It’s like the writer and director knows it’s terrible and needs something shocking to grab the audience’s attention. They should focus on a good script with engaging characters. The characters appear to hate each other from the start and again, it’s extremely slow! The reviewer gave the series 2/5 stars.
By the way I’m offering a reward if anyone can tell me the name of the piano piece Lucy played in the final episode.
She’d played it as a duet with Izzy in an earlier episode…I used to play it!
It’s driving me mad!
