The Great Climate Hoax

AND, If this bloody UK Government has it’s way they will put them all up here in The Highlands. Seems to most of us who live here that Starmer won’t be happy untill Scotland is one big wind farm :rage:

Funny you should mention that Rox…

UK Wind Turbines

And this is what’s underneath every wind turbine constructed. It will be filled with concrete that will never be able to be removed even after the turbine has long gone.
How is this helping the planet?

Here’s the problems transporting the damn things on our wee narrow roads. Total nightmare for everyone, locals and the lorry drivers. :rage: Been held up a few times by these.

They haven’t thought this through have they Rox.
A lot of the remote turbines aren’t even connected to the grid yet.
Can you imagine how much heavy duty copper cable is going to be needed?
A power station can be built close to a distribution junction on the grid.
Just madness… :009:
So called ‘Sustainable’ electricity is going to be the most expensive in the world, and the most unreliable.

Rather like wind turbines.
I find them hypnotic and I’ve come across 100s of them on my travels around the U.K.
IMO they look good & seem to fit in nicely wherever situated.
I must emphasise this is my opinion, I don’t expect to be agreed with.

I have 3 of them on my property. Of course I get paid for them being their. They don’t bother me because I don’t live there and the are in the middle of corn fields. Not that I’m losing sleep over them but when the contract end and I have to dispose of them, comes the problem. In which I’ll deal with when the time comes.

We have over 7,000 wind turbines installed all over the country, mainly in the South. They really spoil the landscape, ghastly things, someone’s making so much money!

Exactly how we feel.

From an engineering point of view I quite like them, and I agree with Ripple, I find them quite hypnotic especially the sound they make…However…
It’s the reason they are there that I don’t understand.
They are not cost effective, hence the price of electricity bills now.
It is not sustainable power. Each turbine requires an amazing number of parts, and you need to build 333 to produce the same output as a conventional power station burning coal or gas, and it’s reliant on the wind. Too much wind and they have to be limited or even shut down, and the wind might not blow at times of greatest demand. Wind turbines produce electricity whenever the wind blows, even when there is no demand, so it goes to earth but still has to be paid for. There is actually a shortage of copper, each wind turbine has to be connected to the grid, and the remote turbines will need massive amounts of heavy duty copper wire.
Copper
They also need an awful lot of oil…That needs changing on a regular basis…
Wind Power
Do you still think they are sustainable or even cost effective…
We are being conned…

nobody seems worried about the ecological emergency - species extinction, habitat destruction, pollution, collapse of ecosystems.

It is crucial that we protect our environment rather than for example dumping plastics into the sea where they enter the food chain of animals and then humans.

There is so much focus on arguing about climate change instead of focusing on what we can do to protect ecology and the fragile connections between different life forms that create the environment we too live in.

We can’t even look after or control our own species, so what chance have lower forms of life got?

That’s just misdirection and distraction while other stuff is going on behind the scenes Annie.

Warring aside, we are destroying their habitats during peacetime. Meanwhile researchers are developing robot bees to pollinate our plants. How soon before someone decides to use these robots to attack humans instead of helping them?

Called in at Sheffield Services on the way home from the hospital, and was amused to see this…
EV charging stations…

Tesla EV charging stations because they have to be charged on their own stuff…

And blow me down… :open_mouth: Aggreko diesel generators with associated electrics supplying the charges…

The man’s obsessed with net zero boomer, it’s skinting people, ruining this country, and won’t make a scrap of difference in the long run. Which is such a pity when we are sitting on hundreds of years of coal, oil and natural gas. Ironic that Drax power station burns wood chips, isn’t that just coal in a thousand years time?.. :009:
