Beautiful photos of your lovely dogs, past and present, Mups…
Oh my giddy aunts…how adorable
Fabulous photos everyone, here’s one of my two last night at bedtime on their new fleece… It’s a shame but I can never seem to get a good shot of Oscar with him being so dark and no markings, although he is starting to get some grey patches now so who knows, maybe in a couple more years…
Beautiful dogs,Barry,…do they take a lot of grooming?
Hi Pauline no, not really. I comb them every week and then we clip them once a month. With the price of taking them to the groomers we bought a table and a set of clippers about ten years ago and have done it ourselves ever since, we reckon it’s saved us over ten thousand pounds over the years …
Yup, I did that with my beloved Rosie, I’ve still got those clippers ,her lead and collar,…oh how I miss my little girl, no one can ever replace her and no one ever will…I can’t go through that heartbreak again.
Beautiful dogs everyone and lovely pics.
@Besoeker if he’s still very active you have nothing to worry about and good that you can keep the thyroid under control, also that’s a lovely pic of him looking up at the sky.
Thank you you good people! And yes, he is photogenic…
The eldest daughter lodged with a couple in Cardiff some 6/7 yrs ago, when we visited he was there, lovely dog but not really exercised put in the garden to do his business that was about it save when they visited the womans family away in Hampshire I think, they always said he never liked cars, any how the pair split up back before lockdown, the dog was passed between pillar and post with neither of the couple wanting him.
Come the lockdown the daughter was furloughed so she took him on, then she was made redundant later on and then had to find a job, she couldn’t really look after him, with him shut in all day, so we said we’d adopt him so he came to us last May, now for a dog which isn’t supposed to like car travel he readily jumps in the boot and is happy enough to ride along when we travel up to Lichfield stopping at Gloucester service for him to stretch his legs.
Have to say he’s well behaved the only thing being a city dog and not really walked he was a right pain at first on a lead but we got there .
We now have to reign him in on his walks no more chasing after his ball or running around with other dogs like he’s a puppy because of arthritis.
He loves his walks and the all the country smells .Introduced him to a badger sett, he couldn’t get over that.
Saw David yesterday, post op day, Jack eye is healing beautifully, head shield comes off on Mon, “ hooray “ from Jack and myself…can start cleaning his teeth x2 a day…I have noticed he is much happier and livelier …
Great to hear Pauline, best wishes to Jack on a speedy recovery and here’s a chicken leg for him as a treat…
Thanks,Barry, how is your lovely boy doing?
Any tips for arthritis, we’re giving Alf a half a paracetamol twice a day, vet suggested this , it seems to be helping,
Alfie is fine now thanks Pauline, had no post OP problems at all so crisis averted… for now…
@pauline3 glad that Jack is doing ok
Also @Barry glad that Alfie is doing well.
@caricature we used to give ours metacam from the vets instead of paracetamol.
Thanks I’ll look it up.
Your welcome
Good grief - I couldn’t do that with my cats - can’t afford to lose that much blood!
Did the vet explain never to use human toothpaste on dogs, Pauline?
