That dog again

Ozzie belongs to a neighbour. Bedlington terrier. She has problems walking so we offered to take him with Max. Offer accepted.

This is he and Max, comfortable with each other. In fact Max looks out for him.

Thanks for the picture. Bedlington, isnā€™t that what mupsy has? Max is a darling, Iā€™d love to meet him in ā€˜real lifeā€™

Yes Queenie. 5 of the little blighters.

and I know you adore those little blighters, they did good getting a human mummy like you to take care of them.

Thank you.

The Hounds of Bedlington know a soft touch when they see one! A bit like my two furry food processors !

A tail from today.
We get groceries delivered to the front door. Max and I were sitting in the back garden. He got up and tapped on the back door. Usually when he wants in. But it seems that he knew the groceries were arriving. The driver hadnā€™t even got out of the van at that point.

My dear wife was about to let him is when I said that the groceries were here based on that dogā€™s behaviour. Sure enough, there was a knock on the door. Mr grocery man had arrived.

I donā€™t know what Max picked up on. But you couldnā€™t wish for a better advance warning system.

We are in South Yorkshire. If you happen by this way, you would be welcomed. Especially by Mr Maxā€¦

A little update on little Ozzie. The fellow who used to walk him has serious health issues. Probably will go into a care home. We donā€™t know how he and Ozzieā€™s owner are related.

She, the owner, is suffering from cancer. I donā€™t know how it will all work out.

You may end up with two dogs!

Besoeker, if that little man needs to be rehomed, please get them to talk to the breed specific rescue.as they understand the breed, know the health issues, and how to look after their coats.
I would NOT use an ordinary rescue.

This lady is from the National Bedlington Terrier Club, and does the rescue work.

OR any of these:

Thank you Mups. I think, if the worst happens, he might end up with us. But it it isnā€™t our decision.

He is totally fine with Max when we walk. How Max would do sharing his home, I donā€™t know.

OK. But if you do take him on, remember they donā€™t moult, so need to be clipped about every 7 - 8 weeks.
They often need their ears plucking regularly too, as some get hairs rooting inside the ear canal, and you canā€™t leave it blocked like that.

Max gets groomed once a month by a professional groomer. Bathed and trimmed. We could do the little Bedlington that way too.

Max blotted his copy book today.
We trotted little Ozzie back home. As usual, Max escorted him into his back garden. Then Max went, uninvited, into the kitchen and scoffed Ozzieā€™s dinner.

I didnā€™t know about it at the time. The girls chatted in the back garden, and Max just wandered in.
I canā€™t really blame him. We humans should have been more aware. Dogs are dogs.

Lesson learned.

Pensive in the back gardenā€¦

And today, he made up for it. I had to make a deposit in the poo bin. It is on a busy street so I asked Max to wait with Ozzie until I got back. Not too far, maybe 30 yards, but just out of sight. He did as he was bidden. And Ozzie wonā€™t go without his boss, Max.

Today, Max had his grooming. The whole nine yards. Bathing, clipping, and he loves it. His fur feels so soft and silky and people comment on it. I think it looks like he has had boot polish on the black parts and angel dust on the white collar. I know I am biased as his owner but he really is a smart looking fellow.

The groomer lady is brilliant. Max had problems with calcium deficiency so she bought a ramp to help him into her car. He is doing fine now and just leaps in.

Ozzieā€™s owner wants a new groomer. Ours may get a new customer.

Fireworks time of year. Frightens pets. But we got calming pills. Max seems to be doing OK on them as wellā€¦

I would never leave my dog unattended or off a lead on a busy streetā€¦or anywhereā€¦even if it were only 30 yds awayā€¦no matter how much you "think " you know your dogā€¦
