Fantastic photos Besso, they ALWAYS make me smile. x
For me, that is his best attribute. He makes people smile.
A little tail from today. We, myself, the two grand girls, and the hairy beast walked to the local convenience store. There were two local young boys outside. I asked if they would look after Max. Their grins were all the convincingā¦
Aww, I donāt blame them. x
Today, Max got groomed. We strolled him over there - about a half hour walk. The groomer brought him back home in her car. He looks and smells wonderfully. Here he is relaxing on our rear deck. I had hoped to get him to do a formal pose in is freshly laundered Tux.
Oh I love it Besso.
He looks shy. X
Thank you SP!
Actually, he is very sociable. The groomer posted pictures of him on her website and commented on how well he behaved.
Comforting to see that. It was his first visit to his new groomer and you wonder how it will work out.
Her words:
āGorgeous Max was that relaxed today that he had a nap while I dried him.ā
He is such a lovely dog - you were both lucky to find each other - definitely a well matched pair!
I have had very kind comments here about my big, hairy friend Max. This evening we got a knock at the door. It was the groomer who tended to him a couple of days ago. Max was delighted to see her. And we got this:

He was entered in the Easter prize draw - and wonā¦
How lovely! I am sure he deserves his prize and will be happy to share!
Wow how lovely.x
Well, he kinda blotted his copy book today. We walked by a neighbourās house. Pretty day. The guy was cleaning out his caravan, his wife, daughter, and little Yorkie were sitting in the front garden. I let Max socialise. The Yorkie barked at Max and mum admonished Yorkie to no effect. Max paid it no never mind but thatās our gentle big Max. The little girl fussed over him. He soaked that up. No surprise there either. All good as my step son would say.
What happened next was a trifle embarrassing. Max decided to do a quick tour inside the house. OK, he came out, no harm done. And then supped on her cup of teaā¦
Oh I say, he lapped up her tea.

Well, I gave him a bloody good hidingā¦scarred to the boneā¦
You fibber, you would never do that. xxx
Actually, the family were quite amused with the big, gentle, friendly and sociable fellow. And obviously, he was comfortable with them.
I canāt quite explain how our shy, nervous rescue fellow gained his confidence, And retained his compassionate nature.
Having the nicest owners of course. X
You silver tongued filly!
But I think you have a point. Not to sing our praises but we have put the effort that, in my opinion, all responsible dog owners should. And possibly reaped the rewards.
Whatever, he is a jolly good dog.
And Iām still going to kick his buttā¦
Of course I am right. X
You wouldnāt kick a fly. X
Probably couldnāt see one ATM until my other cataract op is done.
A tail from today.
My dear wife and i went out to walk Max as we do. The lady next door came out and chatted to us for a bit. Max laid down as usual. I have had a few health issues and been in E&R recently. She, the neighbour, offered to dog sit if we have to be away for anything like that.
It really is a friendly place to be. Just makes you feel comfortable. Maybe secure is a better word.
