Has anyone watched this new, news channel that has many outspoken presenters on it.
It drew in 400,000 viewers on the first night beating all the other news channels.
Maybe, this was because Piers Morgan was interviewing Donald Trump… l just heard the groans from you all !!
Quote…The latest innovation from News UK, TalkTV is a major new free-to-air 24/7 television channel which will launch on 25 April 2022, available to everyone.
Freeview 237
Sky 526
I had vaguely heard about Talk TV, but this is the first time I’ve seen definite information.
I’ve just switched on my TV and confirmed that I can receive it, on Freeview 237, and briefly watched a discussion about the TV Licence and the fee
But I have to go out so I’ll watch again this evening
Obviously I haven’t formed any opinion yet, but it will be interesting to see how they get on
So now we have two news channels - Talk TV & GB News that will give the BBC & Sky some competition, and hopefully give us an alternative to their, and especially the BBC’s, biased reporting, and more weight to the campaign to abolish the licence fee
I watched it. I thought it a good inymterview. Im glad there is this channel but how long it will be around I dont know. They may find a way to shut it down because its controversial and the woke society will no doubt try get it shut down .
Many don’t like piers but I do, he says it like I see it and still dares to speak his mind.
The former Good Morning Britain presenter secured a 2% audience share for Piers Morgan Uncensored according to figures from the Broadcasters’ Audience Research Board (BARB).
For comparison an average of 260,000 people (1.6% share) watched Andrew Neil’s 8pm opening show for GB News last summer, according to the figures. This means that Morgan attracted 22% more viewers than Neil for his opening show.
TalkTV’s ratings however fell significantly after Morgan’s show, remaining below GB News’ audience for the rest of the evening.
Sharon Osbourne, who controversially exited US broadcaster CBS’s The Talk last year after defending Morgan in his row over Meghan Markle, averaged an audience of 44,000 (0.3%) for her current affairs show which immediately followed Morgan’s broadcast.
Dan Wootton’s two-hour slot on GB News from 9pm to 11pm brought in more viewers (64,500) than Osbourne and Daisy McAndrew (6,300) who aired on TalkTV from 10pm to 11pm.
Those figures seem dire to me but someone must be footing the bill.
What I’ve found “comical” it that audiences are now measured in millions per month and times in seconds per day:
The TV channel continues to reach around 2m people each month according to Barb (the Broadcasters’ Audience Research Board). In the four weeks to 2 January (before Holmes and Webster’s arrival) GB News was watched by 2.2m people for an average of 19 seconds per day.
This compares to 15.9m for the BBC News Channel and 10.9m for Sky News, with average daily viewing of three minutes and one minute 39 seconds respectively.
Watched Piers grilling of The Donald, it was highly amusing, my daily paper say’s Piers would like to interview Prince sorry EX Prince Harry but no doubt the Ginger Whinger will decline
disagree, I think it just gets better and better, these people still stand for the right of free speech which we are fast losing because of the woke and cancel culture. You can’t rewrite history and it shouldn’t be rewritten to allow us to learn from past mistakes.
I don’t understand why anyone needs more right wing news channels when there is Sky. It just seems overkill to me.
Pay TV has very small audiences compared to free to air even today. For example the recent leaders debate on Sky News for the federal election had 400,000 viewers when they were held on free to air TV it got millions of viewers.
I can’t believe that the odious Jeremy Kyle is back on TV, albeit on a station that has a few other mouthy people, ie. Morgan & Osbourne. It will sink like a stone, just as will GB News.
