Supermarkets are sneaky and dishonest

Something I have noticed a lot of lately is shelving at the end of aisles. 3 brands of products, the middle one has a “Special” price tag. The products either side have no price.
Sneaky in that elderly people with not good eyesight might think everything on that shelf is the “Special” price.
Some people would be caught out, thinking they are getting the special price, when in fact they will pay full price.

“Buy 2 for $8” single price $5.20. You buy 2 and spend $2.80 more than you really intended.

Any sneaky tactics you notice at your supermarkets?

That’s not sneaky that’s marketing. Everybody loves a bargain.

This week we had $15 off if we put in a code for our delivery.
Coincidentally all of our usual items were at full price which is very unusual. :grinning:

@Bretrick British supermarkets tend to also list the price it was last sold at and when if being sold on special offer.

The last 6 times i went to Morrisons, they over charged me 5 times.
I mentioned it to customer service and was told it is just a glitch.
What utter bs that is.
How many people don`t check their receipts i wonder.
I think they are all sneaky in some way shape or form.

I always take along my own tallying calculator and check the ticketed bill before handing over my card; any discrepancy and the services manager will be summoned for a full item by item check. That will of course close that line while my shopping is being checked😁

With age wisdom also tags along, and at my age, I think I can safely say that wisdom has definitely followed me all the days of my later life.
I am pleased that my deep mistrust of most retailers has also given you a good idea :+1: :abacus:
