Supermarket staff now using bodycams

Ever thought about reporting the delivery driver?

We should just assume everyone is wearing a cam these days and invest in one ourselves

I find it very concerning that our country has come to this point where even supermarket staff feel unsafe and need to wear cameras. Having said that my son recently installed a video doorbell for me due to unrest in my village caused by marauding youths causing havoc!

I haven’t yet put up the ring doorbell in the new place. It’s the sort of area you can leave the front or back door open and nobody will try to break in. The neighbours have a ring bell so i can always ask them. One of the joys of not being in London any more. You have a parcel delivered and nobody nicks it. Everyone looks out for each other. People are considerate and any even slightly unruly behaviour frowned upon and vocally censured (this observation is from the train) All the teenagers ling here are very polite. You don’t even have coin operated supermarket trolleys because people put them back. I haven’t checked if the staff have bodycams here. Will look next time. But I’ve not witnessed anti social behaviour.

Had no idea supermarket staff were wearing bodycams - i will definitely check later when i go to Tesco.
With attacks on shop staff on the increase, i can see it would help to identify their abusers.
Can’t imagine why they would need to wear one otherwise.

The market town where i live, has been experiencing a mini crime wave for some months now, so the police have decided to have a ‘clean up’ before it really gets out of hand.

Nothing too serious, but the usual type of anti-social behaviour, from mostly kids and some adults, who come in from larger towns in the midlands with the intention of causing trouble. we’re hearing quite a lot of sirens, and unmarked police cars whizzing through the town just lately.

I had no idea that was happening :scream: but living up on the edge of civilisation as I do, we are usually the last to get things. People seem to think there’s nothing north of Inverness.
I’m going over to Wick tomorrow for the main shopping so I’ll have a look, if I see nothing then I’ll ask whoever’s till I go through. I won’t be rushing to the self service ones.

FWIW we get our groceries delivered to our door at no cost and yes, usually from Tesco. And no bodycams !

Well, not a lot beyond the Grampians !

I’m curious to know how you get your shopping delivered for free, Besoeker.
On the few occasions i had home delivery, there was always a charge.

My apologies - my wife says it is £3.50 for the delivery.

I thought maybe you winked at the delivery driver

Actually, one of them is a lovely lass…

Shopped at Tesco for years and there’s no sign of bodycams. Perhaps I haven’t noticed, I’ll have a look and make some enquiries next time i’m in on Wednesday.

Life is not good for a Scopophobic!

Whoa, hold the phone! Did I just read that a lad from Yorkshire has been shunning William Morrisons? Old Bill W would be spinning in his grave.

I have to go through the middle of Doncaster to get to either of Morrisons supermarkets now Lincs, whereas Tesco is within walking distance.
And apart from that, Morrisons sold out to some high flying American Company same as Asda, that’s also a reason why I don’t shop at either of those… :009:
However, Mrs Fox says the fruit and veg at Morrisons is superior to the fruit and veg at Tesco.
We have a new Aldi just round the corner that sounds promising. Although they are a German company, I’ve never seen so many Union flags on their premises and their goods. One way to get round us patriots I suppose…
:uk:
Morrisons

Am I the only one who doesn’t rate morrisons? I find they are overpriced for the quality of produce

It’s about shopping around in my experience!
Okay, granted, not a practical option anymore given that there is no high street as such. My Mum swore by United Dairies!
What day was early closing?
