Sad news, he was a lovely man who made me laugh and admire him for his love and kindness to animals.

RIP Paul.

Sad news indeed …

A very funny man and, by all accounts, a likeable one, too, so his is a life cut short.

I loved watching him on his animal programme. You could tell he really loved the little critters and cared what became of them. You don’t find many people as genuine as Paul O’Grady.

RIP

Yes, a sad loss to many who enjoyed seeing him on the screen. I suppose after two heart attacks, it was probably expected that a third would carry him off … RIP Lilly S.

I didn’t really watch much of his stuff other than a few of his dog shows but I agree with most people here that he seemed like a genuine person with a good heart. Sad to hear he died at such a young age.

I was shocked when I saw this on Twitter yesterday. I loved his humour and warmth. A true animal lover and so much fun. I’m so glad he moved away from the Lily Savage persona later in life because his off stage personality was lovely. But to be honest it’s a good death if I am allowed to say that. Having great fun one day and gone tomorrow is the best way to go IMO.

Genuinely one of the good guys, very sad

I was looking back at photos of him and that little dog who used to do his shows with him, so nice to see :two_hearts:

He had a daughter aged 17. He and her mum remained friends and he was close to his daughter. He didn’t realise he was gay until later.

Was he really gay Annie? I read somewhere that he wasn’t…

He was married to a man and came out as gay late. He was of an age when it wasn’t acceptable to be openly gay.

Like his best mate Cilla, fame did not change them, were both true to their merseyside manner.

Yesterday sad news to wake up too.
Enjoyed Life of dogs , anyone who loves dogs and animals as much as Paul did has to have a kind patient personality.
Sleep tight Paul O’Grady .

Well there’s an incentive to adopt a life style that will stave off a third one :+1:
