Strictly Returns!

Is it Tess?

I’d like to see Greg go sadly I don’t think he’s improving, my husband pointed out he feels uncomfortable because Greg looks worried all the way through each dance, no relaxing until it ends whereas others are more relaxed and are dancing more confidently.

No-sorry to report it’s not Tess!

He is perhaps not so much ‘worried’ as concentrating hard?

Wasn’t Judge Rinder a little stunner with that big jumpy/cartwheely thing at the end!

I think they are all concentrating hard mups but only Greg manages to look worried about it. If he could look less worried he’d be up there among the better dancers IMO mind I’m no expert I just like seeing them enjoying their dances.

Who else enjoyed Balls this week?

Yes he’s very entertaining we were all wondering what he’ll do after strictly he’s really turned off perception of him around !

Who was that ol’ boy in the glittery jacket singing early on tonight?
It sounded as if he was struggling to get in the right key to me?

It was Simple Minds (I think) - truly embarrassing and excruciating to sit through. Don’t these old singers ever know when to pack it in?

Yes that was it, oh dear time to retire I think…

Jim Kerr was terrible tonight,Simple Minds were good back in the day-but well past it now.

Well I’m glad it wasn’t just me thinking it wasn’t too good.

In the last few years we have had several of the once famous singers and groups trying to make their ’ come back,’ and it doesn’t always work IMO.

I also think Cliff is daft bringing out his new record compilation of very ancient songs too. Anyone under 60 probably wouldn’t recognise a single song. I think he’d have done better to bring out a new Christmas song as he has done other years. You can only revive songs over 50 years old, so many times surely.
I think people will buy it simply to show their support for his recent troubles, which is fair enough, but they could equally show their support by buying a new song as well.

I thought he looked a little sad singing on telly the other day, dressed like an 18 year old, and dancing about. I know that probably sounds mean, but he is 75, and could grow older a little more gracefully IMO. Nothing against with him still wanting to sing, but it’s the trying to look about 50 years younger than I’m not keen on.
I bet a woman trying to do the same would be not be well received at all.

Sorry, I’ve gone off topic - I didn’t apply me brakes in time..

I can only think singing must be addictive and these old pensioners just can’t go cold turkey. Paul McCartney has morphed into Ken Dodd, Cliff still doesn’t look bad for his age, despite the dyed hair (totally agree about the cheesy old songs though) and the Stones have always looked decrepit, even in the 60s. Interesting that Simple Minds presumably didn’t want dancers interrupting their performance - shame really as it would have given viewers something to watch with the sound turned down.

So old Ballsy makes it through another week in favour of someone else that can actually dance. It’s Ann Widdicombe all over again being kept in for the comedy aspect.

Just heard on the news the lovely Gorka had his teeth knocked out totally random attack in the street. He’s having dental work today and hopes to be back on Saturday but poor man he seems so nice didn’t deserve this.

Yes, I saw that too. Apparently he and some friends were walking to a night club when they were set about. He had two front teeth punched out.
Not good at all, but I suppose at least it can be fixed, it could have been so much worse.

Strictly lost out to the tennis last night for me.

Terrible news about Gorka. There really are some nutters roaming our streets.

I don’t think so at all . He is doing really well for someone who has never actually danced before . Actors etc have been to stage school where they do dancing as well . People who have been in groups have done dancing before .
Claudia is a gymnast and therefore very supple and probably much more fit to learn dancing .
It is after all an entertainment show and it’s the publics choice that Ed stays in . He comes across as a really nice guy and the public like him as do I .

I agree with Abbey :023:

So who will be voted out this weekend in favour of Mr Balls?
