Stop Saying My Name

LOL - something that annoys me even more is having sales people, tradesmen etc., address me by my given name as though we were close friends!

It’s an indiscretion.

Some “Gobshite” might know your name. Before you know it, the whole world does.

Sycophantism, Art.
Is that a word, Art?
I reckon that’s what the name repetition is all about, Art - it makes me cringe too, Art!

It’s condescending Arty…Teacher and pupil syndrome. And a way to make you think they are sincere.

Thank You, for all your replies. I’m not sure why it was necessary for him to repeat my name so often, Eliza, Maree, Longdriver, ruthio, susan, Swimmy, Muddy, Bruce, Right Now, Ted, JBR, Judd, macywack, Silver Tabby, d00d, Foxy.
Maybe, it was just a habit? I did find it a bit repetitive, Eliza, Maree, Longdriver, ruthio, susan, Swimmy, Muddy, Bruce, Right Now, Ted, JBR, Judd, macywack, Silver Tabby, d00d, Foxy.
If he rings again, should l do the same to him? What do you think, Eliza, Maree, Longdriver, ruthio, susan, Swimmy, Muddy, Bruce, Right Now, Ted, JBR, Judd, macywack, Silver Tabby, d00d, Foxy?
Would it be a bit childish of me and make it a very long conversation Eliza, Maree, Longdriver, ruthio, susan, Swimmy, Muddy, Bruce, Right Now, Ted, JBR, Judd, macywack, Silver Tabby, d00d, Foxy?

It might be because, Artangel, he likes to connect with you. Artangel is what people call you, right? It’s part of your identity, a label, a saying, isn’t it Artangel?

Most people, Artangel, put a lot of value in their name, and they should! It’s part of who they are. Artangel, there is a famous quote from Dale Carnegie is, “A person’s name is to him or her the sweetest and most important sound in any language.”

Artangel, using a person’s name in conversation has several benefits. It creates a culture of respect, recognition and consideration for the discussion.

Perhaps Artangel, using someone’s name, and using it correctly, is a skill that can be practiced.

What do you think Artangel?

Art…remember that book from years ago How to win friends and influence people? Saying someone’s name repeatedly was a recommendation as was touching their elbow…so watch out for that.

You could.always tell if a chap had been reading that book…so funny
