I think that we’re very lucky if we can say we had a healthy ‘young’ life, with no serious conditions diseases or disorders.
Not so lucky if like so many young people i see attending the same unit as myself, mostly in their early 20’s and 30’s, who have been diagnosed with a chronic condition, and rely on treatments and medications in order to give them a chance of a relatively normal life - the kind of life that we took for granted at their age.
I agree … I’d go as far as to say each and any of us comparing our modern day life to our ancestors of 100 to 200 years ago accept we have it a lot easier, and all largely down to improved housing , sanitation and medicine.
In the 1800’s the average life expectancy was about 35 to 40.
Life made your tougher until it killed it.
also predicted in the machine stops by EM Forster. Echoes of what you say were also predicted in Brave new world. Our social media world was predicted in Fahrenheit 451. But I predict humanity won’t exist in 100k years.
