Just been sat looking out over the garden (as you do at 7.15am) and watching a squirrel climbing up a support pole for one of my climbing fuchsia and stuffing something in its mouth. Got the binoculars on it and could see it was green string (i use it for tying in the plants) I’m guessing its a female collecting nesting material

I get squirrels in my garden too. I expect your squirrel is making a nest it is the right time of year for it!
