When I was a bairn this song would always upset me.
When I grew one song used to get to me because it was the song played at my sisters funeral. So when I heard it for a few years afterwards it kinda tugged at the old heart strings.Still does if I am alone.
To the world I am a man I donât cry over soppy songs.
Do you know LF, I think thatâs the first time I have ever listened to all the words of that song.
Sorry I am still sobbing and wiping the tears awayâŠ
When you posted it, I was thinking âwhat theâŠ, whatâs sad about that song?â but I can see it nowâŠ
I listen to songs that remind me of my youth but then feel sad because of past affairs of the heart.
Music can evoke such emotions and memories canât it LFâŠsometimes nice memories and sometimes not so niceâŠ
A big hug for you
This film made me cry nearly all the way through! Such a beautiful song.
My first post, not sure what I am doing but meant this in reply to the Lady Gaga song/film
- wanders off lost
I Wake Up Crying-Chuck Jackson.
Reminds me so much of Middlesbrough when I was growing up surrounded by steelworks, shipyards.
Born in a 2 up 2 down in me grans house on Cannon Street/Newport may sound silly but there are days when I miss it so much, and yes I do shed the odd tear.
Growing up working in the foundryâs and shipyards and the furnaces and rolling mills of Cargo Fleet Steel plants.
Our working class in the British Steel got sacrificed to keep the Welsh happy all British Steel investment went to Port Talbot.
Our lads in the shipyards got sacrificed to keep the Tyne and Clyde workers happy. The same could be said for places like Sc*nthorpe and Sheffield as well their steelworkerâs suffered just as well.
We still havenât recovered from the 60/70s to this day.
Jobs are still few and with no investment it will never recover.
On the plus side we have more green fields.
I suppose if we were all cows and sheep we would be happy.
Gets off his soapbox and walks away âŠ
