Songs that make you cry

I just think about my Dad and if I’d listened to him more my life could have been better.

This is well before my time (some things are :)). It may be old but the crescendos in this song about slavery can bring a lump to my throat. Paul Robeson had a great baritone voice…

Joe Brown sings ā€˜I’ll See You In My Dreams’ at the end of every concert (I’ve been to 3). I’ve heard it said the song is in remembrance of Vicki Brown, his first wife (died 1991). I don’t know if that’s true but if it is, it makes this song a sad one and maybe tear-worthy…

Lovely contributions from you all.
Those sad songs do evoke memories.

This made me cry the first couple of dozen times I saw it.

… just because I loved the music 50 odd years ago then didn’t listen to them again until recently … old friends, orchestra 'n all, drums magnifico.

Very moving Doody.

Please, I would love to hear Vicki Carr singing ā€˜It Must Be Him’ reminding me of the hours waiting on the phone for that special call.

And Perry Como singing ā€˜I THnk of You’

Thank you

John Denver…On The Wings Of A Dream, it was playing when my Dad died.

Please listen to the words.

One of the saddest, most emotional songs ever written, The change at about 2 mins in makes you choke up, an emotional roller coaster.

It’s from The Marriage of Figaro if you weren’t familiar with it.

Not into sad songs myself but this is good if you like that sort of thing.
