Are the happenings around the world genuine? Or that’s what we are made to believe
If it is a simulator it’s a bloody good one! So realistic.
And that’s not something to be worried about?
Heard this supposition years ago, then it all went quiet, many years have passed, let it be.
Just asked a harmless question. Don’t u agree?
Of course, but the question was asked long ago, but the answer never followed so it is now null and void.
So there
Thanks for confirming. Nothing’s real
Hm, difficult to say. Let us - for the moment - try to be open minded and assume that it might really be possible that we live in a simulation.
Sabine Hossenfelder (German Physicist) made a video on YT about exactly that thought experiment. The thing is, we could not find out wether something is “real” or not.
Thank you for your piece about this. That certainly was some information I needed. Thank you once again
My central nervous system tells me that this life is very real, but I also think there are things we can’s perceive that are going on around us (addressed in another thread), and that time folds on us so on very rare occasions, we have a sense of snippets of our own future. That is purely anecdotal, though and it gets into all sorts of complex theories about predestination and free will that are made even more complex but theory about simulations.
I do think all this interest in simulations has some tremendous potential. My son set me up with Oculus, which is an unbelievable experience, and I immediately saw the potential of a simulations that could take us back in time to experience events in history and, most importantly, create personal experiences like sitting around the dinner table with our parents. Good stuff…
Very informative. Thank you
The reality of this question is that whether or not we are living in a simulation, it becomes our very own reality. It’s the best we can do, and nothing is going to change in our lifetime.
Isn’t there a Jefferson Airplane song which suggests that the stars are the label on the jar?
It might be because the universe is vast and complex, raising questions about whether we are just a small part of a universe that could harbor life or technology far more advanced than ours.
How would we even know the difference if we are in a simulation? It feels real.
It’s up to you what to believe after reading all that is offered on a subject.
As for me, I tend to wait until a good time has passed and then review the situation before forming my carefully considered opinion.
How long enough is a good time?
I do not think that there is a general amount of “good” time to wait. It is probably always a question of “which source of information do I finally believe is the right one?”.
Generally it is IMHO nearly impossible to say if something is true or not. It is nowadays so very easy to publish any information you like, create convincing AI images and add them. So which information is true and how can we identify it?
Both. Each are inevitable.
Solution. Be mildly inquisitive of that contemporary. And equate with that learned/experienced in the University of Life.
Net result. 'Self ’ Awareness & Sufficiency.
In contemporary jargon. By some. “COOL”.
