How many times have you been asked a question and immediately wonder, “Does this really need an answer?” I almost always have a witty answer. Here is one…
Today while using the laundry room in our building, I was carrying my lingerie/delicates back to my apartment to dry on a rack, and a neighbor who tries to catch me off guard asked, “You have such pretty undergarments. Why not plain colors?” My response was, " At our age, it gives my men something to talk about when they need to distract from why things aren’t moving up to speed."
It did the trick, he shut up and quickly moved along!
Any silly questions with answers you’d like to share? Mundane life doesn’t have to be!
@Dachs, we Americans are much more outgoing and friendly, also tend to make “off the tongue” remarks to others whether we know them well or not.
The trick is to determine quickly who will take the remark in a friendly way or not. Our antennae is wired at an early age how to read people. Well, for some who get away with it, it’s your overall engaging demeanor. For others, “cocky attitude” doesn’t cut it. This guy is just “cocky, nerdy trying to be cute”.
