Some People Are So Good, At Everything, That They Are Really Annoying!

Has everyone got, at least one, Pal who is far too clever for his/her own good.

You may know the sort which I mean, the one who can answer any quiz question, knows all of the words to the song, can pick up a musical instrument and play it, perfectly?

They, always ended up with the best girl/boy friend, played in the first team, wore the latest styles.

And looked really good.

How annoying was all that?

We don’t wish them any ill, like being jealous, or critical, or whatever, because part of their success is, often, that they are very nice, positive people!

Do you know any?

(Apart from me!)

Well there’s you AND me then!

No, don’t think I ever have had one of those. A friend was a far better rider than me, competed in show jumping & other horse related sports, but she wasn’t the boastful sort & we were best friends for many years.

Yes, I know the type. I deal with it by focussing on their flaws. Everyone has some flaws. By emphasising, and perhaps even exaggerating, their shortcomings it is often possibly to eclipse their annoying “admirable” qualities. Regardless of how successful or otherwise that approach turns out to be, one must make every effort not to be impressed by anything they do.

That has been my attitude for as long as I can remember. I have perfected the art of becoming completely indifferent and aloof. My face can adopt the perfect bored expression to add to my aloofness and nonchalance.

Yes, even if you can’t manage to be completely unimpressed, it is important not to show it. :slightly_smiling_face:

We had a lad, at school, who was only, about, 5ft 2" tall.

That enabled him to be a Centre Forward, I thought, because he could run between people’s legs & had a low centre of gravity.

Being over 6ft always led to being a full back or Goalie!

Nice lad, but annoying!

You could kick him a long way though…!

I have known people who were particularly good at something, but never anyone that was good at everything. Perhaps I have been lucky. :slightly_smiling_face:

Some people are like walking wikipedias, it’s hard getting them to loosen up.
