A couple of weeks ago I was at a fenced sports ground and got chased by a large dog. Luckily I was close to a gate and was able to evade dog.
The game was about to start.
The owner saw what was going on and came to her dog.
Dog was going apebat crazy.
I said to the woman
“I suppose your dog has never done that before”?
“Sorry” she replies
Dog is still going apebat
“You do know that your dog is supposed to be on a leash”?
“Not in this park. This is a dog exercise Park” she replies
I point to the sign which stated,
Dog exercise park unless a sporting event is taking place
“Do you not read signs”?
“I will ring the Ranger and have your dog removed”
I had no intention of doing that but it had the desired effect.
She walked rapidly to her car and was gone inside 2 minutes

@Bretrick Since a friend was cornered and then bitten by a loose dog, I bought a high voltage cattle prod and never go out without it. No 'kin loose dog is gonna bite me now as I’ll definitely use it.

I wouldn’t mind putting one of those little devices on my late Christmas pressie list
A bit illegal I’d imagine even if I could treat myself to one gift wrapped from Amazon
Not so much prodding the doggies, rather some of the so called owners

A slightly different tale. Some of you probably lived on a farm. Now and again we kept a few dozen cattle temporarily in an electric fence. My dog wanted to inspected them - but he forgot about the electric fence. He went howling back home…
