Kurt Maflin an English-Norwegian player rated highly by Steve Davis, holding his own against John Higgins 2-2 (25) frames.
Magical Maflin won by 13-11 an impressive victory.
Agreed, it’s refreshing to see some new young faces on the circuit, most of the British players are getting on in years now.
Great win by Mark Williams. Can he defy the odds yet again?
Against Ronnie O’Sullivan will have to play his best, evens if he gets the Chinese Ding Junhui.
It never ceases to amaze me that so many top ranking players seem to come from these (UK) shores. It’s a lucrative career for those with ability, so how come there seem to be so few from the US/China etc, and nobody of note from the Middle East?
In USA pool is more popular, guess in other countries it is not televised much, if at all. I expect there are a few players from around the world, who never make it past the qualifying rounds.
Ronnie O’Sullivan has gone right down in my estimation:
Ahhhh, Mr ‘I am Snooker’ he has to be in the limelight.
Is it just me, but there’s something unpleasant about Anthony McGill.
Didn’t he have a bit of a whinge about the opposing player encroaching into his eye line when taking a shot?
He did indeed. But there’s a look about him which I find disconcerting.
A sort of unfinished look?
More of a bitter and unpleasant look.
Anyway, that aside, the match between O’Sullivan and Junhui is a joy to watch.
That’s because he is Scottish.
Ouch.
Sorry:lol: No doubt someone will now contact the Thought Police and report me for being racist.
Neil Robertson to play Mark Selby in 1/4 final.
Mark Williams opponent O’Sullivan or Junhui.
Ive just been watching todays playoffs and l must say that all those
playing today seemed to be in very low spirits and continually
Made careless mistakes and bad decisions despite one or two
brilliant shots here and there?
The only reason for this poor showing that l could find was that
all of them consumed far too much water??
Most of them apeared to be burping whenever they sat down as they
clutched their bottles of water as if their lives depended on it??
If the sport required high levels of energy then one could forgive
them this??
Has anybody else noticed this water fetish practised by these
“athletes”??
Donkeyman!
PS. Probably accounts for how many times they need the loo too?
