Sitting Exercises

Hi

I don’t do New Years Resolutions, they don’t last.

Have been previously very fit and active, albeit injured and somewhat restricted.

Three months restricted to bed have seriously made me much weaker, the muscle loss has been significant and quite depressing.

The medication side effects have not helped either.

I have been researching sitting exercises, helped by a friendly OT.

I have settled on two, they don’t look much but you can feel the effects and the improvements.

They are not only a help to recovery but also a set of exercises to keep you mobile and free from muscle aches and pains.

They are also both free.

I don’t blame you @swimfeeders, such a good idea, I have always been a great believer in “use it or lose it”

I wonder if you can get those videos in English :joy: (it’s really very good)

On top of sitting exercises (you could also lift things like tins or bags of food or even just lifting your arms and legs up and down as per those videos) definitely try walking around the house or ward if you can - walking is soo good for you, especially 15/20 minutes after eating, it’ll help you digest your food :023:

@swimfeeders … thanks for posting those Swims … I’ve saved them on my youtube list. Sitting down exercises sounds just up my street … was diagnosed with RA last year and any prolonged walking or exercise knackers my knees now but I can tell they need some strenghtening.
