Got sinusitis , had it 3 weeks . Rang doctors who advised go to chemist first . Chemist recommended Sinutab , he asked about blood pressure , all OK and said these should help if not go to docs . £6.99 I went home opened packet and then read about the caution bit , it said don’t take if diabetic . I had opened the pack so couldn’t take it back . Yesterday went to docs and got a steroid nose spray .
I wanted to email the Sinutab company and complain but can’t find an email address . So they charge for the tablets then tell you you can’t take them . Money in their pocket once again .
It’s not sinutab you should complain to but the pharmacy. Ask for your money back because the pharmacist should have checked with you whether you are diabetic before recommending this treatment. The fact that you have opened it should not stop you from getting your money back. In fact you can mention that you could have been quite ill had you taken this medication. If you don’t tell the pharmacy off they could be a risk to other customers.
I will go back and tell them but even if it hadn’t been recommended and I’d bought off the shelf by choice its not until once opened and you read the bumf it says not for diabetics ! The info needs to be on the outside packaging doesn’t it . How many have bought and opened I wonder .
There is an address I may write a letter telling them.
I showed doctor the packaging she replied " but it’s just a pain relief " as though it was no big deal .
Do not use this medicine…
If you have ever had a bad reaction (allergic
reaction) to paracetamol or pseudoephedrine or
any of the other ingredients (listed in section 6).
If you have high blood pressure or heart disease.
If you have diabetes.
I understand that Sinutab is an over the counter medicine. So they are not obliged to put warnings on the back because the pharmacist should check whether it’s suitable for customers by asking the appropriate questions.
