The biggest local event of the year, absolutely huge, road and car park closures starting in the morning and all the way through Saturday.
First one since the start of the Pandemic.
What a disaster.
No fireworks because of the fire risk, but tickets already sold, a huge display visible 60 miles away.
No Red Arrows, a conflict of dates, they still sold tickets though.
It was Families Day just a few miles away at Shawbury today, helicopter flypasts, the Red Arrows zooming over, a day before the advertised presence at the Flower Show.
I live midway between the two, all easily visible at low level, 3 miles one way, 2 the other.
A complete and utter con.
Only here in the UK could you have such a mess up.
There is a huge sell off on Saturday evening of all the exhibits, a right scramble, many give them away to avoid having to pay for disposal costs.
This is when the crowds come for the fireworks, but not this year.
Every cloud has a silver lining, one of my neighbours is part of the clean up, so some stupid bargains to be had.
Cash has already changed hands for some stuff.
