Looks a good job Carol, hope it works out for you.
Looking good, Carol, but shouldn’t you replace the bollard in its hole when going out, rather than store in the garage? Otherwise it defeats the object of installing it.
Good idea.
Personally, I believe ,that there is a possibility, of the hole ,where the bollard sits, being filled in ,either with cement or something else, that’s if she takes it out and stores it in the garage, I do hope not.
Not sure about the placement of the bollard, Carol. From the photo it looks as though ‘he’ still has plenty of reversing room - but then it doesn’t show the end of your drive. I do hope there will not be any adverse reactions!
Yes, I was thinking that it would have been better placed near the end of your drive, Carol.
I’m sure you’d find it easier to drive into one of your neighbours’ drives, get out and remove the bollard, then back into your own drive.
Oh… hang on…
I agree Percy.
They have to be easily visible, especially when painted black…
Let’s hope there’s no more trouble Carol.
Carol, It was only £150 to make and install it? I think you got a bargain there!
I bet the air is blue over the road at Mr Bullyman’s house!
Thanks for the remarks everybody.
Yes you’re right. I will put it back in it’s place after I’ve reversed out or as you say the hole could be filled with ‘something’ - Mind you, I’ve already had a chat to the police about this so they’ll know whose house to go to if it gets vandalised!!
RE: The yellow reflective tape. What’s wrong with the 2 strips of reflective tape already on it?
Thanks again for the sensible intelligent replies/questions/advice and to the would be trolls - I don’t find you amusing. funny or annoying - just pathetic…
Nothing wrong with the bollard,Carol,it’s fine, if he vandalises it,you won’t have a leg to stand on,unless it’s recorded, he could pay someone to vandalise it.
I guess I’m in a minority in that I think it will work and it should solve the problem. It has reflective strips on it and it’s not right by the road so someone would have to trespass to hit it. It’s also close enough to the road to stop someone using the drive as a turning point.
We used to ring the police in the old days but they are too busy now.
I can’t see that he will be bothered enough to try that as it’s in a pretty exposed location. Besides which he would be the main suspect.
And of course their numbers were decimated (literally) by Treason May.
Whether he is the main suspect or not,she won’t have a leg to stand on, ive been down this route, I also had a main suspect, who the police were well aware of,…you need evidence ,that’s how the law works.it needs to be proven, not because he’s the main suspect.
How deep does it go into the ground Carol ??
It looks ok but if it’s not deep enough it could be pushed over ?
Donkeyman!
He isn’t going to bother with something so trivial IMO. It’s not worth his while and I’m sure he has better things to do with his time than plan sabotage by making cement fillers or waste superglue while Carol is off site/indoors.
Shall we place bets?
I guess,I’m going by what my neighbour did,Annie, so think he may do the same, …time will tell ,eh…i hope you are right, it does sound trivial,I agree…I may have blown everything up out of proportion…ever so slightly……I get carried away at times.
You’ve made some valid points Pauline, you have obviously had
experience of selfish people yourself ?
Donkeyman!
I have a feeling that Carol’s relationship with this neighbour is a bit different from yours. For a start her son owns some land next door so there’s a different balance of power there. Plus I can’t see him wanting to fork out for a bag of cement or glue just to poke her in the eye.
