You know the ones. You were telling everyone that you knew the answer but no one believed you. Then finally one day, it was obvious you were right.

I’m not a self-opinionated person but my twin brother is. So on one occasion there was a chance to take him for a ride. I just didn’t want to hear his “I told you so.” again.
It was a few years after the introduction of E10 petrol. We had different views about whether we should use it or not because it was said to potentially damage older cars. My car was six years old and his was two at the time. I had taken a look at the manufacturer’s list of which cars may be fuelled with E10 and then had used it immediately. Although his car was on the list, too, he was cautious and decided to continue using the “normal” petrol.
When he heard that I was going to trade my car in for a new one he was curious about how much the flagship dealership of the region would pay me for it. And, of course, he expected that I would have to pay a price for having used E10 for years since he wanted to be right. Knowing that, I said I’d have got 2,000 pounds more if I hadn’t used E10, which was the moment for him to say triumphantly, and he did, “Didn’t I tell you that!” only to hear then that it wasn’t true.

Just keep it to yourself, being right don’t change anything

sometimes it’s best to pretend you know less than you really do know, can make for better conversation, plus it’s a good way of getting information out of people.

That has always been my way of proceeding through life and it has always paid me back with huge dividends. Only speak up and/or out when absolutely necessary; let the others share first unless in the case of imminent danger👍
i advised my husband to NOT do that (hang a picture)as it will fall,he did it,it fell and i said i am not going to tell you i told you so…but i did.
We both laughed.
