I’m actually curious myself, particularly ref the American idea of adding cheese to an apple pie crust
Yes, I really can’t see why is shouldn’t work!
I wouldn’t fancy cheese and apple pie but love a slice of cheese in a currant bun, hot cross bun.
Mmm!
A timely and delicious reminder that Easter is nearly upon us Helen ![]()
I do like that cinnamon!
Looks and sounds really tasty. I had a go at making hot cross buns a couple of years ago, came out quite good for a first timer, but this variant sounds even more tempting. ![]()
Excellent!
That sounds really encouraging Rose. I’ve got no excuse not to now. I might even push the boat out and add a little orange zest to the lemon

More than just one d00d! ![]()
I’m really tempted to make those creamy hot cross buns, especially as I had been thinking about good old British hot cross buns recently. I’ve saved the recipe, thanks Chilli.
If I do decide, I’ll probably make them for next Sunday - Palm Sunday.
For Easter I have other traditional Italian pies and cakes to attend to.
It would be a bit too much, or not? ![]()
I remember in the UK we used to always have double doses of Easter and Christmas goodies, from both countries.
, but my mum took care of all that, I just helped in the eating process. ![]()
Delicious!
Do tell how it goes! ![]()

Who could forget their first Sausage and Egg McMuffin and Hash Brown?
Sure will! ![]()
I’ve never understood the appeal of hash browns
I didn’t even know what they were until I looked them up on Google a while ago.
I cannot forget that event … because for me it never happened. It looks so very unappealing.
You know the old adage “Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it” ![]()
Fair point. But I was certain that I would not like tripe although I had not tried it. So I tried it. That was a mistake.
Yes, tripe would be pushing the adage.
