OK If you don’t expect your monarch to do anything for his country.

The topic is about sculpture not the politics of medieval monarchs .

Antony Gormley…Another place…Crosby Beach…
It certainly got Mrs Fox excited…

Another Place is a piece of modern sculpture by British artist Antony Gormley located at Crosby Beach in Merseyside, England. It consists of 100 cast iron figures facing towards the sea. The figures are modelled on the artist’s own naked body.

I’d say the wrong angle for any excitement

Perhaps you would prefer this one of Saladin a great warrior of the crusades Richards opposite number as it were .

It’s in Karak , Jordan ,a town where I lived for a time .

If it’s to be equestrian statues, we also have them gilded. Passed by this one for a while showing the Elector of Saxony and King of Poland, Augustus the Strong.

I’ve always admired the Boxer at Rest statue

Created way back in 330-50 BC, yet looking as if he could have stepped out of the ring yesterday with so much to tell

That is a truly excellent portrayal of the boxer Maree. But one thing has me a little curious… I see in the top left of the photo it says “EE WiFiCall” and that’s where he’s looking .

You mentioned him " … with so much to tell"

Was he expecting a call or an SMS or perhaps thinking about making a call ? :innocent:

If only he COULD TELL US… eh? :face_with_hand_over_mouth:
