Ryan Giggs on trial for assaulting two women - Update: Charges withdrawn by the Crown Prosecution Service

Why was she sleeping with a married man anyway? That’s pretty scumbag behaviour is it not?

That description would include millions of women, including, of course, Carrie Symonds …

Ms Greville is currently facing cross-examination from Mr Giggs’s defence barrister, Christopher Daws QC, and has described feeling like a “slave to [Mr Giggs’] every need and every demand” during their on-off relationship.

“That’s what it felt like,” she told the court on Wednesday. “If Ryan said do something, I would do it. He made me feel like I had to do everything he said or there would be consequences.”

She described initially seeing him as a “knight in shining armour” rescuing her from an unhappy marriage, before he “lured” her into an affair and gradually became “aggressive regularly”, speculating that he may suffer from narcissistic personality disorder.

The trial continues.

More fool her!

Absolutely PixieK.

A summary of the third day.

The Cross-Examination.

Day 4

The court heard that during the lockdown the couple took part in online family quizzes, wine tasting on Zoom and had Michelin-starred chefs bring in food. But Ms Greville said there were arguments, including one involving loading the dishwasher.

“He was making me feel like I was stupid, the way I was loading it. I had to do it exactly the way he wanted to do it. That’s just one example of many.”

Mr Giggs’ defence barrister, Chris Daw QC, said: “You suggest in your various accounts that lockdown was a period of living hell.”

Ms Greville replied: “I felt like I was losing my mind. I was having panic attacks. It was a horrific time for me.”

Kate Greville being portrayed in a bad light

Chris Daw QC, defending Ryan Giggs, says Kate Greville set up a “staged photo” showing her injury after the alleged assault incident.

He says Ms Greville was “trying to tell the whole world… a completely false story”.

Ms Greville says she was trying to stop the paparazzi “harassing” her for photos.

Mr Daw asks Ms Greville if she “enhanced” the appearance of her injury.

“No,” she replies.

Mr Daw suggests Ms Greville tried to make her injury look worse through make-up.

“No, not at all,” she replies.

The court hears of an article in The Sun newspaper with the headline “Living Hell” which included a photo of her after the alleged assault.

A tearful Ms Greville says she did not sell her story or sell any photo, and never asked for money.

Ms Greville says she staged the photo to “stop the press turning up on my doorstep”.

“I felt like I was trapped,” she adds.

Kate Greville admits in court that she lied about smear test showing cancerous cells

She told Giggs she had a smear test and it had shown “cancerous cells” and she needed to go to hospital.

Ms Greville tells the court that in fact she was going to an appointment to get her coil removed and she also wanted an STD test.

“It was the only thing I could think of,” she tells the court. "It was awful.

“I regret saying those things but I needed to say something to get him off my back.”

Chris Daw QC, defending Giggs, suggests Ms Greville continued having sex with the ex-footballer after she had her coil removed.

If true Giggs is every woman’s idea of a nightmare.

But a rich one , a very rich one and rich men always find some woman willing to put up with them.

Hi

As a Northern Male with two two younger sisters, both Yorkshire born and bred, I would say that he was very lucky indeed to survive the experience.

I was scared stiff of my Mum but absolutely terrified of my sisters.

Having said that, anyone who treated my sisters so badly they would tell brothers had better start running.

We where taught by Granny, parents did not have sex, a known fact when I was young.

Granny was very simple.

You are not Jesus, Mum and Dad did have sex, you did not invent it.

Be nice , kind and respectful, and you will be surprised how much you can get.

Be an idiot and do not be surprised how little you will get.

Quite a lady Granny was.

piece of shit :poop:

Isn’t that another way of saying ‘prostitutes’ ?

Not always these girls want the fairy tale and the lifestyle with the prestige that goes with being the girlfriend and hopefully wife of a rich man, sometimes it happens.

Hi

You do not mistreat prostitutes either.

In many countries it is the only way they can feed their kids.

Unfortunately we here are going down that route, a big increase in ladies selling sex on social media to pay the bills.

A prostitute is still a person, a real human being, they should be treated as such.

Before some kick off, no I do not use Prostitutes at all.

I do however treat them as human beings.

Good grief, Swimmy, I was not suggesting otherwise.

Hi

ST, it was not aimed at you, you are far too caring and intelligent .

Hi

The problem is quite simple.

Some people have so much money they think they are above the Law, they can afford massive legal fees which ordinary people simply cannot.

A glorious example is the recent spat which cost Rebecca Vardy in excess of £3 million.

I certainly could not afford to take legal proceedings against Ryan Giggs if he had abused a female member of my family and then thrown them out into the corridor naked.

I could not even afford a barrister to put their side of the story.

The lady involved, never met her, is having all sorts of mud thrown at her in Public and many people are not mentally strong enough to cope with that and so the rich one gets away with it.

Having said that, I do believe in Karma and I would not be surprised to see photos of him naked and confused in the national press if the lady in question was a family member of mine.

I got the impression that the alleged victims are not suing Giggs in a civil case, so they should not need money for a legal team and court costs.

This is the Crown prosecuting Giggs in a criminal case, isn’t it?

Hi

Yes, you are right, however they are still entitled to their own legal team to rebut any allegations made in public.

You must also remember that the CPS Barristers are salaried, they do not command the huge fees of the defence…

It is like Manchester United playing Cheltenham in a football match.

Who woud you put your money on?
