Looks as if I may get a Rookery in my Oak tree. So far one nest, but several pairs of Rooks are looking.
I hope so.They can be loud but I like the noise they make.We had a rookery near us in the UK.Never seen any here in Oz.
We had a Scots Pine on the other side of the lane at the bottom of my garden & that had a large rookery in it. The tree was cut down many years ago & the rooks left, but came back to feed in the gardens, this is the first time since then they have attempted to nest near by. They are a noisy lot, but we had them here then so they’ll not bother me.
I hope it will bring you luck. Well established rookeries signify good fortune.
I’m surprised the weather is allowing them to nest. It’s too windy and rainy here for that at the moment, I think.
We have a mild climate, bit damp but not cold. I noticed the rookery in Cornwall we pass sometimes has more advanced nests & more nests too. Those rooks always nest there just off the main road.
