I love this performance.

Hi

Never forgotten, the first song which was not just noise, but had real meaning for me.

I remember this well, because the harpiscord was ‘edited’ in after the original recording. Brian (Lewis) AKA Elmo Lewis, was the most talented in the group at that time and being so drug dependent, his demise was always going to happen sooner or later.
I met him through Mick and straight away gained the impression he was a bad boy harbouring hostilities. Personality wise, IMO the Stones became better of without him.

Same here. I was never a big fan of the Stones; I prefered the Beatles & the Carpenters. But when I first heard that song, I said, “Wow!”

I liked the early Stones of course but preferred the Mick Taylor era.
Let it Bleed,Sticky Fingers,Exile on Maine Street,Its only RocknRoll. :grinning:

One early Beatles song really amazed me, and still does. “In My Life.”
Besides being one of the most beautiful songs ever written, the keyboard solo is played by George Martin who was a classical musician. I play lots of Bach & when I heard this song, I said, “What’s going on with my hearing; I could swear I put on a Beatles record.”

Yes ,as good as they were, they were lucky to have George as their producer.

I fail to recognise that lap instrument as a Harpsichord
