RIP Jim Lovell (Apollo13)

The astronauts altered course to fly a single time around the moon and back to Earth, splashing down in the Pacific Ocean near Samoa on April 17, 1970.

I had the week off and spent all day glued to the TV
Real life drama with a happy ending.

I was working in London at the time of Apollo 13, we had to turn off some of our radio systems because when the lunar module was close to the horizon terrestrial microwave transmitters interfered with their signal.

In actual fact I think it only affected a couple of standby channels anyway.
