Red Light Therapy

This, to me, is a fascinating subject, using light instead of drugs,
I discovered this several years ago and decided to find out more,
there is lots of information, like, in Russia, you are more likely to
get some red light therapy, than drugs, if you are ill.

Photobiomodulation Therapy, (PBMT), is the official name for this,
it used to be called Low Laser Light Therapy, (LLLT).

This isn’t a sales pitch, this is information that might interest you,
me, being an old electrician and seeing the price of the equipment
when I first heard about it, I decided to build one myself, I used the
Grow Panels, that some people use to grow the wacky baccy, they
worked just fine.

Now there is a helmet like thing on the market, made up of infrared
lamps, Durham University introduced it 2 years ago, they reckon that
it will help with Dementia, Parkinson’s, Motor Nuron Disease, in fact
anything to do with the brain.
Here is a 3-minute video all about this product, there are two doctors
in the beginning, talking, then a young woman demonstrates it and
describes, her results.

I’m a fan of light therapy - though do feel a lot of the benefits that are being discovered are what you’d get from age-old wisdom anyway, such as get out in the sunshine, exercise more, take regular saunas etc. All of these things are just as if not more beneficial that what they are now showing red-light is good for

So am I. It is a lot easier to see in daylight than in the middle of the night.

I am not convinced by these fad treatments. when a red light therapist or an aroma therapist is called to a road accident then perhaps I will be.

However you are right about sunlight they reckon that the epidemic of near-sightedness among Asian kids is due to children not being out in daylight enough because they are kept indoors studying. Not to mention the Asian obsession with whiter than white skin.

Sunshine, and plenty of vegetables in a good varied diet with no restriction on the variety. A human body will find something valuable in everything edible.
I walk to the surgery each month to place my prescription, and then when it’s ready, walk to the pharmacy to collect it. I believe the walk probably does me more good than the medication I collect.

Foxy, 28000 paces today!

One may always walk alone, no place for this geezer in Liverpool

That’s amazing Spitty, will you keep up the walking when you retire?

I have no plans to retire fully Foxy, I hope the state pension becomes supplemental, you and I know the value of walking into old age, I have been fortunate that, like you I am quite handsomely paid for it so, see no distinction between work and retirement. I will reschedule one of the jobs I do to give longer periods of motorhoming but this function involves less pure walking.

That sounds like a good compromise Spitty…

Only God can intervene in the plan now Foxy

There are more results coming out about red light therapy,
UCL, advised that 3 minutes of red light therapy per day,
2 years ago, is good at restoring eyesight, including age
related degeneration.

Today, they recommend 3 minutes per week, for the same
results.

I tried some red light therapy while visiting Amsterdam, Mrs Fox was not happy…

Did it work?

Once I got the pot off Spitty…
Pot off

No gain without pain

I got the gist of the subject totally wrong. I thought the discussion related to a visit to an establishment using a red light to advertise their services.
