Rail strikes, and now the Post Offices

I just received this notification from a firm I deal with, and thought it might be of interest to anyone who has anything important to post.

" We just wanted to let you know of the following scheduled Royal Mail strikes.

Friday 26th August | Wednesday 31st August
Thursday 8th September | Friday 9th September

These strikes will impact Royal Mail’s normal operation and are likely to cause disruptions."

It’s is not just the days of strike action though, is it, it is the catching up on the back log afterwards that will no doubt effect all of us.

But thanks for the thumbs up Mups.

Hi

Nobody in their right mind strikes.

They were a thing of the past.

People now feel that they have no alternative.

I find this very sad, understandable.

Government holding down the wages of ordinary people but at the same time taking the cap off the huge bonuses given to already rich investment bankers.

I can imagine that Rail Strikes will hit some sections of the community hard - those who rely on trains to get to work, for example.

I think the Post Office and the Royal Mail are two separate entities now, so from the thread title and OP, I’m not sure which of them is taking strike action?

If it is Royal Mail,it will just push folk towards using other Mail Couriers. I don’t think many folk rely on Royal Mail nowadays - they are so expensive and so much is done online or via other courier / parcel services.
