Our adult kids have started calling us “fragile antiques” in jest and then followed it up with, “you really should make the house a bit safer.” I quite like a DIY project, so I sat down with them and sketched out a quick plan to adapt the house for getting older – low cost, fast to do, nothing too ugly.
We’ve tried a few of the ideas now and they’ve turned out to be very practical for everyday bits like the bathroom and stairs.
