Private healthcare again

Further to my posts on the old forum, where I mentioned my two episodes of seizures/fainting (in January and July), we decided to ask for help from my GP. Wheels began to be put into motion and I had a blood test and ECG on 22 July and managed to obtain a telephone consultation regarding the results on 10 August.
The GP told me that he thinks the problem lies more with neurological problems than cardiac, so will arrange for me to be seen by a specialist in that field, but that is going to be a MINIMUM of 6 months’ wait!
Despite the inevitable expense, Marge persuaded me that I should go privately, so an appointment was made with a neurologist at a nearby private hospital and we went there yesterday.
Having discussed the matter and taken a history of my problems, he said he would arrange for an MRI of my brain and also a 3-day ECG monitoring of my heart.
We got a telephone call today informing us that an MRI has been arranged for tomorrow at their own facility (I didn’t know that they had their own MRI machine).
Two days as opposed to at least six months!

We are fortunate that we can afford to pay for private healthcare. Compare that to what others who cannot afford it must put up with.
