Premium Bonds - have you won anything?

I thought it was 3 months before you qualified?

It has been 1 month to qualify for some time now, Tara

Right! I hope they allow you to put more money in PBs soon, it is only £50K at present.

Just the usual one £25 although now I recall it was x2 last month .

Yes, I’ve got loads under the mattress wondering what to do with it ;-)

Sorry what are you talking about?

Yes…That’s what I heard Mags…:-D:-D:-D

Tara theyre teasing you!

I get that but not sure why?

I was only stating that I wished that you could hold more than £50K in PBs as mine are doing much better than the interest I get on my savings accounts.

Some might consider that your letting it be known on a public forum that you had this amount of money was flaunting your wealth…so they joked about all the money hidden under the mattress and not knowing what to do with it…

Just tell them to dig it all out from under the mattress and buy Premium Bonds with it!!

We were laughing with you Tara…Not at you…:-D:-D:-D

Oh don’t be silly that isn’t wealth? If I had a few million in the bank then I might consider I was wealthy. We are just reasonably comfortable, these days, my husband having worked his socks off to provide for us.

Well that joke fell flat :frowning:

I do get a bit irritated if I contribute to a finance board, and other posters assume I am boasting about my so called ‘wealth’. I don’t consider my husband and myself wealthy at all, just comfortable in our latter years if we don’t go too crazy with the dosh.

My husband and I have been very careful with our money over the years trying to save as much as we spent. We have never over indulged ourselves. We have never propped up the bar of a pub like many do. The only time we have frequented one of those places is if we have had a meal in one. We haven’t had exotic holidays, we would visit my home island once a year. When our children got older we took them on several educational trips abroad, more for their benefit than ours.

Nowadays, we spend little on ourselves, but try to help out our children if they need it, and give money to charity. We are also trying to ensure there is enough to pay for decent care homes if and when the need arises.

Best to stay out of those if possible they charge about £1000 a week if not more.

My mother’s care home was £1200 per week. Good job we are putting money by for our homes.

£25 this month.

That’s £75 since the start of the year.

looks like its not going to be like last year were I made just over 3%.:cry:

My baby sister was crowing last night as Ernie came up with £1000 this month, as well as £1000 last month! I haven’t heard from Ernie yet this month.

Snap Galty  £25 for me too…

2x 25 for me .
