Iāll second that,
Broken Dreams
She said lām just a peasant girl
Not very much to offer
He said lām not seeking gold today
Your smile makes my day softer
She said I usually donāt talk
To strangers by the way
He said when we stopped and smiled
The stranger went away
She said I canāt stop too long
My life is toil and sweat
He said these moments canāt be counted
Theyāre endless dreams no less
She said I always had
A dream that fades away
He said lāve brought a dream
That could be here to stay
She said will you be here
When another dawn has broken
He said stopping broke the dream today
The truth has just been spoken

I would never put it on facebook honey. I am creating a forum and I want to put it in my poetry sectionā¦
Thank you very much. I love it.
You are talented, very talented !
Following on from the āJesusā thread in Discussions:-
I WALK WITH GOD.
I walk with God,
He guards my thoughts and guides my feet,
His presence makes my day complete.
He shares my laughter and dries my tears,
He soothes my pain and dispels my fears.
I walk with God,
He is always there when I need a friend,
and my trust in Him will never end.
Nothing and no-one could ever take
my hand from His ā that bond wonāt break.
I walk with God,
and I know that He is very aware
of all my faults ā but still He cares.
He loves me unconditionally - just as I am,
a flawed human being ā a little lost lamb.
I walk with God,
and that knowledge humbles me.
He is in everything I hear, I touch, I see.
He gives me the Sun, Moon, Stars above
and, more precious still, He gives me love.
I walk with God,
and because I do ā I have no fear,
nothing can harm me while He is near,
for He is my armour, my shield, my sword.
I will gladly kneel and call him āLordā.
I walk with God,
and I do it with a joyous, thankful soul,
for it is Him in me that makes me whole.
Loving Him has set my spirit free ā
I walk with God, and He loves me.

Oh Silver, you should have a book of your poetry. It is exceptional.
I love when I see a person capitalizing He, etc. That showes me a lot about you as a person Silver. Not everyone knows this.
Keep up the good work friendā¦God blessā¦
@ Silver Tabby, I just spotted your post on the Jesus topic. Hope you donāt mind but Iāve paddled frantically across and read you poem.
Excellent ! Straight from your heart , so meaningful and joyful. You are very gifted . x
Thank you both very much - I had a feeling that you would appreciate it.:-D:-D:-D
I should open a poetry forum, just for people who like to write. If I did that, would you post your poems in there Silver? Or have you got enough on your plate?
I could have it ready next week-end if you were interested. It would have to be nothing except poetry tho, as I cannot handle all the complications and bickering that comes with a full community forum like this one.
I think I would make it Poetry and Photography, as I have a couple friends that would like somewhere to store their piccies.
Blue
Sounds really interesting, Wild Blueberry. I would have to be careful though - not just about copyright/pirating etc., but also because some publishers will not accept stuff that already appeared on the internet. Most of the ones I have put on OFF would be OK as they have already been published.
Could safeguards be put in place?
Brilliant poems I just love them
Tabby and gumbud you are just brill.
Hi Silver,
I didnāt realize that you were having them published. I do believe we shouldnāt do it. Best to be on the safe sideā¦
They are excellent Silver and I enjoy them all, but I favour the Heart one as it was in reply to my heart thread, and that makes it special to me,
I think that the current set up is fine, we have excellent works posted for pleasure given & taken, for the small but enthusiastic readership here.
For myself I have never attempted to publish any of my verses or prose
and they are for friends and family only.
Our guilty secret mebbe?
I would cry if we lost your poems young Robert.

Here is the poem I read yesterday for a special service. It is all about Godās boundless love for usā¦ and to some of us it will have an additional, deeper spiritual meaning.
I found G. Herbertās works during a monastic retreat in 1989
This poem struck home
Prayer (I)
BY GEORGE HERBERT
Prayer the churchās banquet, angelās age,
Godās breath in man returning to his birth,
The soul in paraphrase, heart in pilgrimage,
The Christian plummet sounding heavān and earth
Engine against thā Almighty, sinnerās towār,
Reversed thunder, Christ-side-piercing spear,
The six-days world transposing in an hour,
A kind of tune, which all things hear and fear;
Softness, and peace, and joy, and love, and bliss,
Exalted manna, gladness of the best,
Heaven in ordinary, man well drest,
The milky way, the bird of Paradise,
Church-bells beyond the stars heard, the soulās blood,
The land of spices; something understood.
Brilliant! I love G. Herbert. Tyf sharing.
That is so touching Bobby.
Thank-you young Robert for help with the posting.
How did I manage to become this old
Where was I when my life unravelled?
I did the opposite of what I was told
Though my life was largely trammelled
AS a boy I kept my head right down
I was considered the runt of the litter
My teacher looked at me and frowned
His dislike of me made him bitter
Then came hormones and teenager years
Everything became surreal and intense
I was buffeted by countless fears
Humour came to my defence
Then came the young executive
I suppose I just looked the part
I gave the firm all I had to give
But a backstabber caused me depart
Family grew and property cost
Those years flew by at a startling pace
For a time my life was stuck & lost
I wanted to exit the whole darn race
