Plug-In Solar will be Legal in the UK

From the 27th August 2026 [https://www.thunderenergy.co.uk/post/uk-plug-in-solar-law-explained]

I built one, a couple of years ago, but I didn’t use it, although I did test it,
modern TVs and LED lights makes it easier, as smaller units will run a
flat or small house.

I didn’t realise it was illegal. Haven’t people been using similar on their camper vans for years?

Will be watching with interest - energy prices are ridiculous!

Now if only I could get a solar panel system to power a sauna heater, I’d be happy!

I think these are different Annie, afaik, these feed energy back into the grid and it can help reduce your bills…

ah I see. I was reading that there is a problem with all solar installations because the grid isn’t able to monitor the supply for these and wind turbines etc properly. So when they plan power supply for the country it’s completely inaccurate.

Can’t these plug in kits be used instead of taking power from the grid for things like lighting, TV’s and other low power devices therefore reducing electricity bills?
