1979 and we are gleefully treated to this great musical delight …

The year before (1978) and we given the wall of sound via Angel Eyes

To finish with ABBA and their entries would not be complete for me without their 1973 stirring sound of Ring Ring, the one I would do my best to copy on my multi-track until it was an acceptable offering.

Ah now, Blondie, yes. For me their best offering in the 70’s was their ā€˜Dreaming’ which was pressed for release in 1979 … one my own blondie did so well

The show lyrics
I think that this is not progressive
But tell me what the people like
Sometimes it sounds me like a classic
It’s stolen but that’s what you like
I like the show
I like the show
That you don’t know anything
About the music that you hear
The show, the show
D’you just like the show
The glittering the number one
The one who stole the show
The show, the show
D’you just like the show
The glittering the number one
The one who stole the show

I think it better sounds commercial
'cause that is what the big folks want
It didn’t took a lot of rehersal
I hope this record blows the charts
I like the show
I like the show
That you don’t know anything
About the music that you hear
The show, the show
D’you just like the show
The glittering the number one
The one who stole the show
The show, the show
D’you just like the show
The glittering the number one
The one who stole the show
I like the show
I like the show
That you don’t know anything
About the music that you hear

The show, the show
D’you just like the show
The glittering the number one
The one who stole the show
The show, the show
D’you just like the show
The glittering the number one
The one who stole the show

Maniac in town tried to burn it all down
the piromaniac who looks like me and you
but I know his name
and I don’t think he’s insane
it is me and I just like to raise a fire
they all try to catch me
but me and my matches are illusive
'cause I’m too intelligent
it’s a reflexion to get my satisfaction
from this p****ly heat
that I just can’t stop with
a little bit fire
that I’m gonna get higher
I want it, I need it and I love it so.
See how it burns
see how they turn
and I, I only have to laugh
Ha ha ha, houses on fire
and I think I’ll retire
to be alone, alone with my big appeasement
firebrigade in action
to distinguish my deflexion
but I’m just standing here and I watch it
town is in commotion
and I’m here with my emotion
I know that it’s unfair
but all I have to care, for a litlle bit fire
and I’m gonna get higher
and I want it, I need it and I love it so.
Nobody knows just where he goes
we don’t know his name
all we know he’s insane
